The Story Behind Northstar
Our founder, Kang, experienced the high-pressure world of elite career applications first-hand. During his assessment centre at Kirkland & Ellis (the world's highest grossing law firm) and third-round interview with Blackstone (the world's biggest Private Equity firm by AUM) in London, he faced the overwhelming challenges of increasingly competitive processes — skyrocketing coaching fees, fragmented prep materials, and a maze of unstructured resources.
Frustrated by the lack of accessible and effective tools, Kang realised there had to be a better way. Northstar was created to provide structured, affordable career prep at your fingertips. By breaking down complex concepts into quick, gamified challenges, it helps students build the habits and knowledge needed to succeed, all while staying engaged and motivated.
With just five minutes a day, Northstar turns elite career prep into something effective, rewarding, and most importantly fun.
